About Medford

Named “the heart of the Rogue,” Medford is Southern Oregon’s the largest city with a population of roughly 86,000 (as of 2020), making it the fourth largest metro area in Oregon. The Medford area is located in a mountain valley formed by the Rogue River and one of its tributaries. The valley is mainly farmland with tree-covered foothills and mountains. The city of Medford hosts a variety of urban adventures with theaters, brewpubs, wineries and artisan cuisine. Skiing, watersports, mountain biking, rafting, and hiking opportunities are abundant in the nearby mountains and Rogue River Valley. Wineries dot the outskirts of town and just northwest, in the city of Central Point, Crater Rock Museum exhibits gems and fossils.

The Rogue Valley Country Club is a lovely facility for enjoying tennis, pickleball, basketball, mini golf, batting cages, sand volleyball, and much more. Get your workout in at the state-of-the-art fitness center, relax and chill by the newly renovated (and heated) pool or enjoy more than 200 acres of the 27-hole golf course.

The Centennial Golf Course is another prime golfing location, featuring a spectacular layout designed by two-time PGA Tour winner and 1977 U.S. Amateur Champion, John Fought. The newest golf experience in the Rogue Valley, Centennial boasts an impressive 7,309-yard layout that plays to a par of 72.

Upper Table Rock and Lower Table Rock are two prominent volcanic plateaus located just north of the Rogue River and are one of the most popular hiking locations in the Rogue Valley, with over 45,000 visitors annually. The Table Rocks are home to more than 70 species of animals and 340 species of plants including 200 species of wildflowers. The trails are the most popular with hikers between March and May, when the wildflowers are in bloom but another peak occurs in September through October. You can find more information HERE.

Roxy Ann Peak, also known as Roxy Ann Butte, is a 3,576-foot-tall mountain in the Western Cascade Range at the eastern edge of Medford and features a 4.9-mile loop hike with incredible views of the valley. View the trail guide HERE.

The Craterian Theater at The Collier Center is a state-of-the-art performance venue and gathering place for the community of Southern Oregon. The facility features excellent acoustics and sightlines, an impressive array of theatrical equipment, and is operated by a professional staff. The auditorium is intimate and comfortable and can seat up to 750 patrons, and the stage can accommodate large music, dance and theatrical tours, as well as local productions.

The Tinsletown Movie Theater is the main attraction of The Village shopping center and offers all the amenities of a “big city” movie experience complete with ultra comfy seats, arcade games, self-serve kiosks and snacks & drinks galore!

If you’re looking for a family-friendly way to spend the say, the Family Fun Center can keep people of all ages entertained for hours with playful activities such as mini-golf, go karts, bumper boats, arcade and more.
